The body needs a balanced combination of nutrients, which is normally not available in canned food. In fact, preserved foods are high in salt content, and sometimes sugars as well, which can create a sodium imbalance in the body, along with a host of other issues.
2. Leaking aluminum
Of late, studies have proved that aluminum residue in the human body is hazardous, and leads to memory loss, dementia, and other ailments related to Alzheimer’s disease. Food packed in aluminum cans can contain aluminum, as the metal can leak into the contents. So you can imagine how much aluminum we’d be consuming if canned food is a part of our regular diet!
Canned food has preservatives and additives that are toxic compounds. The human body, born from nature, is accustomed to natural products. Laboratory generated compounds are harmful to our system, as the body cannot process or digest these substances. These harmful substances keep accumulating in our system, and can eventually lead to life-threatening ailments.
A toxic substance called BPA, or bisphenol A, is commonly found in canned food. The inner lining of the cans is made of this plastic coating. Traces of this plastic dissolve into the food, and are ingested and absorbed by the body. This is a harmful compound and can lead to hormonal imbalances, which can further lead to hypertension, obesity, cancer, etc.
So think twice the next time you go to buy canned food, and if you don’t have an option, then at least take note of the ingredients listed on the can, and choose wisely.
